Surrounding Areas

  • Asheville, NC is the largest city in Western North Carolina and about a 45 minute drive from Lake Lure.  It’s a great place to grab a beer with 26 craft breweries or catch some live music.  It was also ranked the No. 1 food destination in the US by Travel & Leisure in 2022.  Biltmore Estate is a must see with expansive gardens and activities.
  • Black Mountain, NC is approximately 45 minutes from Lake Lure. It has a walkable downtown area with many restaurants, shops and a brewery. The drive to Black Mountain when the leaves are changing is one of the best.
  • Blue Ridge Parkway is tagged as “America’s Favorite Drive.” The amount of scenic lookout points, hikes, and waterfalls off of the parkway are too many to list. You can jump on the parkway about 40 minutes from Lake Lure headed to Asheville.
  • Hendersonville, NC is about a 35 minute drive from Lake Lure.  You’ll pass by many farms for apple picking along the way.  Hendersonville offers many restaurants, bars and shops down it’s downtown Main Street.
  • Saluda, NC is one of many charming small towns located approximately 30 minutes from Lake Lure boasting an historic downtown with restaurants, art galleries, and unique stores.  It is also a great destination for road biking, whitewater rafting and waterfall viewing.
